Postscript 03:17
This is twisting and turning. A life tied up in knots. Tracing a path in primary color, reduced to only what we've got. Kill self to prevent self-harm. An action oxymoronic at best. Traipsing through koans about loss. Labyrinth; forest, a tree fell in. Did you hear it? Cause I doubt it. Clearing gives way to a precipice. Whispers to clearing of your mind. So what happens if you forgive yourself? I'm asked if I'll just forget. What happens if you slip up again? Will you slip right off this cliff? To hell with the metaphors, I begged for help, I was just ignored. Both victim and perpetrator. A list too long of things I'm sorry for. To kill ego is to know what peace is but I can't kill anything cause I am too peaceful. Everything is tight, you deserve to hear. Everything is tight, you deserve to be here.

about

Postscript was written between the year of recording and releasing 'TIGHT'; it was brought on by my therapist asking me to write about how I was feeling, as if that hadn't been what I was doing for all the years BEFORE therapy. She asked me about a lot of things, a huge friend break up and falling out I had with most of my friends, a huge break up with someone I was dating for a very long time, and then what would happen, that if at the end of all of it I forgave myself. This song is kind of a meditation, both lyrically and musically, on that idea.

It kind of serves as a b-side or 8th song to TIGHT, I hold that if we had waited a LITTLE longer that this song would have been on TIGHT and it would have been a real LP. So maybe now it is, its not like any rules on music are real anyway.

We originally released this song acoustic and a few months after TIGHT but we started playing it on tour and kinda felt like it deserved a new and proper life. So here it is!

This band has really changed, lost, and grown since right before we wrote and recorded TIGHT to now, so I think it makes the most sense that this song caps that era off with a bunch of the best friends I've had in my life singing the group vocals at the end. So thanks to them and to everyone who has ever sang along at a show.
